Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a contract paraprofessional with opportunities for summer placement in a variety of educational programs near San Mateo, CA. This role offers the chance to collaborate within dynamic school environments, assisting learners with a wide range of needs and helping to create inclusive and supportive classrooms.

Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement: Associate’s Degree or higher, OR 48+ college units plus a high school diploma, OR passage of the CBEST/Instructional Aide Exam with a high school diploma.
• Candidates with specialized certifications and training (e.g., sign language fluency, Braille, health care procedures, LVN license, CPR/First Aid) are encouraged to highlight these credentials.
• Flexibility is essential—willingness to assist wherever needed, including personal care tasks such as toileting, diapering, and feeding.
• Reliability, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Experience supporting students with significant social-emotional or behavioral needs is a plus for relevant assignments.
• Proof of qualifying education/certifications and a manager’s reference are required with each application.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional and personal care support to students with varying needs, as assigned by site administration.
• Assist with classroom activities, behavior management, and personal care including feeding or medical procedures as trained.
• Maintain a professional, supportive presence in all settings.
• Participate in ongoing safety and skills training.
• Remain adaptable to placement in any grade level or program, per school needs.

This contract opportunity covers extended school year (ESY) assignments in Pre-K, elementary, middle, high school, ACCESS, and county programs running from June 15 through July 17, 2026 (with holidays observed).
