HomeStory Doors is hiring a Sales Consultant to help homeowners throughout the Chicagoland area replace and upgrade the doors in their homes.

You may be a strong fit for this role if you are a confident, professional salesperson who knows how to build trust quickly, follow up consistently, and help customers make good decisions without being pushy.

You are organized. You are responsive. You listen well. You ask good questions. You know how to guide a homeowner from interest to decision, and you understand that the sale is only successful when the handoff to the team is clean and the customer experience stays strong.

This is a great role for someone who has sold home improvement, remodeling, windows, doors, closets, flooring, cabinetry, roofing, HVAC, or other residential products and services.

What You’ll Do

• You will respond quickly to assigned leads, including Home Depot leads, website inquiries, referrals, phone inquiries, and other customer opportunities.
• You will contact prospective customers by phone, email, and text to schedule consultations and move opportunities forward.
• You will meet with homeowners to understand their needs, style preferences, timing, budget expectations, and project goals.
• You will educate customers on HomeStory Doors’ products, process, installation approach, and value.
• You will present door replacement options clearly and help customers choose the right solution for their home.
• You will prepare estimates, proposals, and customer agreements accurately and professionally.
• You will ask for the sale with confidence when the fit is right.
• You will follow up consistently on open proposals, pending decisions, and unsold opportunities.
• You will keep accurate notes, lead status, proposal details, and next steps in the company’s CRM or lead tracking system.
• You will coordinate with the General Manager, Office Manager / Lead Coordinator, Measure Tech / Installer, and installation team to make sure customer information is complete and expectations are clear.
• You will help create a smooth handoff from sales to measurement, scheduling, installation, billing, and project completion.

What We’re Looking For

• You have 2+ years of successful sales experience selling directly to homeowners in a consultative sales environment.
• You are comfortable following up with leads and open proposals without needing to be pushed.
• You know how to build trust quickly and communicate clearly.
• You are confident asking for the sale.
• You can explain products, pricing, scope, timelines, and next steps in a way customers understand.
• You are organized and able to manage multiple leads, appointments, proposals, and follow-ups at the same time.
• You are comfortable using CRM systems, email, calendars, text, proposal tools, and basic business software.
• You pay attention to details and understand that clean notes and accurate handoffs matter.
• You are professional in appearance, communication, and customer presence.
• You can work independently while staying aligned with the team.
• You have a valid driver’s license and can travel throughout the Chicagoland area as needed.

Experience in home improvement, remodeling, construction, doors, windows, closets, flooring, cabinetry, roofing, HVAC, or another residential service business is strongly preferred.
