Our goal is to be the industry’s best source, and best value, for complete turn-key construction, engineering and design-build services and related products.Across North America, notable projects include The Purple Line Extensions section 3 in Los Angeles, Water Tunnel number 3 in New York City, Eagle Mountain Gas Pipeline and Kemano T2 tunneling projects in British Columbia, Canada, the Inter-Quarry Tunnel in Leesburg, VA and the Century Mine in Volga, WV.Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional TalentDESCRIPTION:As a Chief Estimator at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the CEO, you will have the opportunity to:Lead, review and sign off on all estimating activities for tunneling projectsLead the thorough review of the contract plans, specifications, and other documents for the bidSupervise estimating personnel assigned to tunneling bidsIdentify major and unusual items in RFQs & RFPsSolicit quotations from major subcontractors and suppliersPrepare HCSS comparison sheetsIdentify D/M/WBE requirements and prepare plans to meet the requirementsDevelop clear write-ups and documentation required for SOQ / RFP type proposalsPrepare documents for bid and proposal submissionFor Joint Venture bids, set up JV manualSet up Bid in HCSSPrice-up bid items and review with project teamTimeline equipment procurement and logisticsProvide assignments and monitor take-off estimatorsMaintain dialogue with owner’s representatives, owners, and JV partners throughout bid processREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field of study from an accredited institution and 10 or more years of relevant estimating, project management and / or construction experience. Or 14 or more years of relevant experience if the degree requirement is not met.10 or more years of tunneling and or heavy civil project experience5 or more years of experience estimating on tunneling projects5 or more years of experience leading/ supervising estimating teamsExperience with HCSS, Primavera P6 and Procore or similar softwareWillingness to travel up to 15-20%Frontier-Kemper builds extraordinary projects, and we need exceptional talent.
