Location Santa Fe Springs, CA, 90670,United States Base Pay $80,000.00 - $80,000.00 / Year Employee Type Exempt Manage Others Yes POSITION SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor, this position manages and tracks drivers as well as assign drivers’ routes, destinations, and timelines. Additionally, this position provides support to Safety and Compliance by communicating preventative maintenance timelines, DOT driving hours as well as work with drivers on safety issues. This position disciplines drivers through counseling and forwards recommendation of additional discipline to management. You will work as a liaison to the customer and use discretion to address any concerns as well as answer non-routine correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information. This position deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified deliveries. Duties and Responsibilities Monitor critical loads to ensure safe and timely delivery. Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document pertinent information. Respond to any issues and follow-up by coordinating with appropriate departments or agencies. Provide solutions to potential late deliveries. Manage drivers to help them and company meet a high level of productivity. Authorize and issue company funds for repairs. Direct drivers to submit missing shipping documents to ensure revenue is captured. Remove trailers from service due to inspection dates or mechanical failure. Verify compatibility of previous contained loads with next scheduled load. Reroute truck if driver reaches DOT maximum driving hours. Prepare responses to correspondences containing routine inquiries. Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, copying, scanning, faxing, mailing, and filing. File and retrieve organizational documents, records and reports. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer literate. AS400, Keep Truckin and Microsoft Office Suite Good writing, analytical and problem - solving skills. Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management and general administration. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, telephone systems, typewriters, calculators, copiers and facsimile machines. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Minimum Qualifications At least three (3) years’ experience in Dispatch responsibilities and procedures. Must be computer literate.
