About the Position

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Profession: Allied Health Specialty: Client Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8A-4:30P Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Kentucky state license required Certifications: BLS training required after hire, ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence preferred Must-Have: ASHA Description: Assesses and treats patients from infant through geriatric with various speech, language, and/or oral pharyngeal sensory-motor in-competencies according to standards of practice. Assists in managing daily operations of speech-language pathology services. Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure maximum level of care to patients. Plans and provides direct speech-language pathology care to inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Evaluates patients, sets goals, implements, reviews, and revises treatment programs. Completes necessary documentation related to patient evaluation and treatment including progress notes, discharge summaries, and reports. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of reimbursement issues, codes, and compliance requirements. Provides counseling and education to patients and their families regarding goals, home programs, and treatment recommendations. Documents these activities and assesses patient/family understanding of the education provided. Participates in planning, developing, and preparing new programs, services, and policies. Contacts and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and referral sources to integrate speech services into patient care. Assists in the management of daily operations of speech-language pathology services, including scheduling and maintaining equipment. Teaches, evaluates, and schedules speech pathology college and volunteer students under guidelines of educational institutions. Adheres to dress code and functions as a preceptor to orient new employees. Demonstrates knowledge of compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Performs other related duties as assigned.
