Drone Operator & Project Administrator

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Drone Operator & Project Administrator to join our Project Controls team. In this hybrid role, you will serve as a primary drone pilot for site documentation while providing essential administrative support to keep our construction projects running smoothly, safely, and on schedule. This position is ideal for someone who combines technical proficiency in aerial data capture with strong organizational skills in document control and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: 1) Daily Aerial Site Documentation Conduct daily drone flights over the FAB2 site following pre-planned flight paths, capturing high-resolution photos and video of all active construction zones by package (CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) Maintain consistent flight paths and reference points to enable accurate progress comparison and time-lapse visual records across the project duration Coordinate with site safety on no-fly zones, crane exclusion zones, and active lifting schedules before each flight Conduct pre-flight safety checks, weather assessments, and site hazard evaluations; maintain daily flight log (location, altitude, duration, pilot, incidents) Manage drone equipment: battery charging schedules, pre-flight and post-flight maintenance logs, and equipment condition reporting 2) Photo & Video Processing Process, sort, and archive all captured photos and video by date, zone, building level, and package on the day of capture — all files retrievable within 24 hours Perform basic photo and video editing (exposure correction, cropping, highlight clip assembly) to produce clean, presentation-ready visual assets Maintain a standardized file naming convention and folder structure in the project PMIS or designated cloud storage 3) Document Control Maintain the centralized project document management system — receive, register, distribute, and file all project documents (transmittals, correspondence) per project document control procedures Ensure documents are properly numbered, versioned, and retrievable in the project PMIS; maintain the document register as a live record Coordinate document distribution to GCs, design team, Owner, and internal project team; track transmittal acknowledgments and outstanding responses Monitor document submission deadlines and issue alerts to the Contract Manager and project team for overdue submittals Support Contract Manager with compliance document collection and filing as directed 4) Regulatory Compliance Maintain active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate; obtain all required LAANC airspace authorizations applicable to the Taylor, TX site Comply with all project OCIP, site safety, and drone operating requirements Qualifications FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate — Required; current and valid at time of hire Minimum 2–4 years of experience operating drones in commercial or industrial construction environments Proficiency with professional drone platforms (DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, Air 3, or equivalent) and flight planning software (DJI FlightHub, Litchi, or equivalent) Basic photo and video editing skills — Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or equivalent; ability to produce clean visual deliverables from raw footage Experience with construction PMIS (Procore or equivalent) for document filing and transmittal tracking preferred; training available for the right candidate Photogrammetry / 3D mapping is Not Required — standard aerial photo and video documentation is the primary deliverable Strong organizational and file management discipline — daily output consistency is the core expectation of this role Key Notes & Requirements FAA Part 107 Certificate - Required Daily flight and data delivery consistency - Required Document Control PMIS experience - Preferred (training available) Large-scale industrial or commercial construction site experience - Preferred Field + desk dual role: morning flights and data processing, afternoon document control.
