In pursuit of this mission, we are looking to hire a High School Academic Interventionist (Math Certified).

We are seeking a highly motivated and certified High School Academic Interventionist with an endorsement in Mathematics to join our secondary education team. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who excels in building relationships, is well-organized, and is committed to providing personalized academic support to students in grades 9—12. The Academic Interventionist will play a key role in helping students meet academic benchmarks through a combination of in-person and online support.

Qualifications - Education & Certifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Math endorsement (6—12 or secondary).
• Familiarity with online learning platforms, especially Edgenuity, or willingness to be trained.
• Proven ability to tutor and support students across high school grade levels (9—12). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse student populations. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and student data systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and take initiative.

Qualifications - Previous Experience

• Experience in academic intervention, credit recovery, or online/hybrid learning environments.
• Background in tracking student attendance, academic metrics, and implementing data-driven interventions.
• Experience working with high school students in a support or instructional role.
• Prior involvement with test administration or coordination of standardized testing processes.

Sample Job Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and tutoring to students in grades 9—12, both in person and online, with a focus on Math content and related coursework.
• Monitor attendance and coursework completion fora designated grade -level cohort, using data systems and online platforms.
• Take and maintain attendance records based on student engagement and coursework progress.
• Actively participate in weekly Student Progress Meetings to discuss student needs and plan targeted interventions.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement individualized support strategies.
• Leverage online systems such as Enginuity to track student progress and assist with virtual instruction.
• Build positive relationships with students to foster academic motivation, consistency, and accountability.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other data tracking tools to manage and report on student progress and intervention effectiveness.
• Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team focused on student achievement.
• Function as a self-starter, capable of managing a flexible schedule and adapting support based on student needs.
• Assist with the administration and coordination of both state and local testing, including preparation, proctoring, and follow-up tasks.
• Ensure compliance with testing protocols and timelines, supporting accurate and efficient test implementation.

• Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
• Frequent verbal communication is required to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families.
• May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties.
• Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students.
• Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication.
• Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

FTE 1 (5 days a week 8 hours per day)
