This position tilizes professionl jgment, knowlege, n leership to evelop new methos, ecte others, improve systems n emonstrte responsibility for ministrtive ties in the lbortory. The Grossing Technicin works ner the irection of the Chief Operting Officer n the Pthologist, works closely with the Histologist, other lbortory stff n members of the helth cre tem to provie qlity service to or ptients.

• tilizes leership skills to orgnize n process ptient specimens n fcilitte overll fnction of the gross lb. ssres qlity reslts throgh the se n evltion of qlity control, proper instrment fnctions n collection, processing, n nlysis of the pproprite smples.
• evelops thorogh knowlege or emonstrtes prior competence in the grossing of simple srgicl pthology specimens, incling issection, pproprite gross icttions, n knowlege/ se of mcros, ner the irection n spervision of pthologist or pthologists' ssistnt. My ssist Pthologist or other physicins with frozen specimens or grossing of specimens.

• Ientifies crrent professionl n technicl isses n their impct on lb prctices. Mintins pproprite ccreittion by regltory gencies. Evltes n implements new methos n instrmenttion.

• Works n commnictes coopertively with tem members to ientify n complete lb responsibilities n meet eprtment gols. Prticiptes in eprtment ctivities to improve ptient cre/lb systems, shres new informtion with ll tem members, ttens tem meetings n effectively orients/mentors' new stff s reqeste.
• Mintins crrent knowlege n skills pplicble to job ssignment throgh contining ection or professionl orgniztions. Follows ll proceres n policies n emonstrtes competency n proficiency s reqire.

Minimm Qlifictions:

• ssocite egree in chemicl, physicl or biologicl science or meicl lbortory or eqivlent ection n trining
• Lbortory trining, experience in Pthology lb preferre.
• Excellent bility to commnicte verblly n in written form with stff, venors, n cstomers.
• High level bility to fnction s member of tem, with the bility to work self-sfficiently
• Excellent compter skills n the ble to operte mchinery with ttention to etil.
