Inventory Clerk

The Inventory Clerk plays a key role in maintaining accurate stock levels by performing regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and operating powered industrial trucks in a warehouse environment. This position supports overall warehouse operations by ensuring inventory records are precise, up to date, and aligned with physical stock on hand.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inventory cycle counts using RF scanners to verify stock levels and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct product research and inventory investigations to identify and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
• Operate powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment, including a cherry picker and order picker, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying counts, assisting with put-away, and confirming inventory accuracy.
• Assist with general labor and warehouse inventory tasks, including organizing stock and maintaining orderly storage locations.
• Follow established inventory control procedures and report any issues or variances to leadership.
• Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting and recording inventory.
• Ability to perform physically active work, including standing for long periods, reaching, turning, squatting, and lifting 50+ pounds.
• Ability to safely and proficiently operate PIT equipment, including cherry pickers and order pickers.
• Comfort working at heights while using warehouse equipment.
• Comfort working in both ambient and chilled warehouse environments.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety procedures.
• Experience with inventory control and cycle counts.
• Experience working in shipping and receiving and warehouse inventory operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using RF scanners for inventory tracking and cycle counting.
• Experience with general labor within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with forklift operation and other warehouse material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while performing warehouse and inventory tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that includes both ambient and chilled areas. You will work on your feet for most of the shift, frequently walking, standing, reaching, turning, squatting, and lifting items weighing 50 pounds or more. The position involves regular use of RF scanners and powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment such as cherry pickers, order pickers, and other material handling vehicles. You may work at elevated heights when accessing inventory stored on higher racks. The facility emphasizes safety and expects adherence to all safety protocols and equipment usage guidelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
