Inventory Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Inventory Clerk to join our Bell Gardens distribution team. This position is primarily based in the warehouse office and is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing inventory-related paperwork, and tracking incomplete orders caused by shortages, location issues, or inventory discrepancies. This is not a full-time warehouse labor position, but the Inventory Clerk will regularly work with warehouse personnel and enter the warehouse to verify, count, locate, or inspect inventory as needed. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting warehouse paperwork. Manage paperwork for incomplete orders and identify inventory issues preventing orders from being completed. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to research missing, misplaced, or unavailable inventory. Physically verify inventory quantities and bin locations when necessary. Maintain and update overstock inventory and bin-location information in Microsoft Excel. Use Excel to review inventory information, compare quantities, research discrepancies, and maintain organized inventory records. Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits. Research discrepancies between recorded inventory and physical inventory. Document inventory shortages, location issues, adjustments, and other discrepancies. Monitor incomplete orders and follow inventory-related issues through to resolution. Maintain organized records of inventory movements, shortages, adjustments, and related warehouse activity. Assist with inventory transfer and replenishment paperwork. Communicate inventory issues clearly to warehouse management and other departments. Assist with receiving, shipping, and inventory paperwork as needed. Maintain an organized warehouse office and filing system. Follow company inventory procedures and warehouse safety requirements. Perform additional inventory and administrative duties as assigned. Requirements Skills and Qualifications Previous inventory, warehouse office, shipping, receiving, or administrative experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required . Ability to accurately enter, organize, sort, filter, and review inventory data in Excel. Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize and manage paperwork throughout the workday. Comfortable researching discrepancies and following issues through to resolution. Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse employees, supervisors, and office personnel. Ability to learn item numbers, bin locations, and warehouse inventory processes. Dependable attendance and strong organizational and time-management skills. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods. Ability to regularly walk through a warehouse environment. Ability to bend, reach, and inspect inventory at warehouse locations. Ability to lift and handle boxes or inventory weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to safely work around forklifts, pallet racking, and active warehouse operations. Work Environment This position is primarily based in the warehouse office but requires regular interaction with warehouse operations.
