JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will be training on our 1st shift, Monday-Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm. Once fully trained, the employee will be moved to 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday 4:45pm to 3:15am.

$17-19/hr depends on experience + quarterly bonus potential + potential for promotion

Benefits start day one.

Essential Functions

1. Basic assembly and building of freight valves.
2. Follow written procedural guidelines during the assembly process.
3. Proper use of power and manual tools.
4. Proper use of calibrated gauges, power and manual torquing devices.
5. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
6. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
7. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
8. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

Skills and Competencies

1. Technical Capacity

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
• Good mechanical skills
• Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
• Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment :
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift a valve on and off of the work stand an average of six times per valve, up to ten times per day with twisting, lifting, bending.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
2. One to Two years of related experience.
