Journeyman Carpenter – Craft High-End Residential Projects with Northbay Craftsmen Inc.

Job Overview:

• Company: Northbay Craftsmen Inc.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $42.00 – $48.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Location: Petaluma, CA (Onsite)
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time
• Schedule: 9/80 Schedule (Every other week includes a 3-day weekend)
• Project Scope: Residential Remodeling & New Construction
• Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required

The Opportunity:

You will build custom residential projects alongside a tight-knit team that values craftsmanship, safety, and work-life balance. This role empowers you to showcase your specialized carpentry skills on diverse jobs while leading apprentice carpenters in the field. You will enjoy a varied daily workflow with minimal travel and a schedule designed to give you extra time off.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Execute precision finish carpentry, including interior/exterior trim, custom cabinetry, and specialized flooring installation.
• Manage and mentor apprentice carpenters on-site to ensure work meets strict quality standards and safety protocols.
• Collaborate closely with sub-contractors, internal crew members, and clients to keep residential projects running smoothly.
• Execute both new residential construction and custom remodeling tasks with high technical accuracy.
• Lead by example during weekly jobsite safety meetings to maintain a secure, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in residential carpentry.
• Demonstrated expertise in remodeling and new construction workflows.
• Proven ability to manage, train, and guide apprentice crew members effectively.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Advanced skills in finish carpentry, custom cabinetry, and detailed trim work.
• Ability to troubleshoot field plan adjustments independently and efficiently.
