About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Kansas City, Missouri, 64132!

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (preferred but not required: TNCC) Must-Have: Advanced skills in hemodynamic and ventilator management Description: 48 hours guaranteed. The unit has a total of 32 beds. Patient ratios are 2:1. Staffing includes unit secretaries and tech availability. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts with every other weekend or four weekend shifts within a four-week schedule. The floating policy includes like units. Patient experience requires two years of ICU experience, preferably with ICU expertise. Advanced skills needed include trauma patient management, IV administration of vasoactive medications, ventilator management, chest tube management, and care of post-operative surgical patients. Additional skills include cardiac rhythm identification and management, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of stroke patients. Procedures performed on the unit include chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, arterial line, and central line placement. Dress code requires navy scrub tops and matching scrub bottoms, with jackets in navy, white, or black. Undershirts must be in solid navy, white, or black colors. The unit is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level 1 Trauma Center. This position offers an opportunity to work with new equipment and technology in an experienced team. Consideration will be given to the tenure and expertise of the staff and schedule options available.
