The core requirements are: A motivated attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the capacity to effectively communicate with clients in a sales atmosphere. Some sales experience and a degree with general business courses is helpful. We provide a comprehensive in‑house and virtual training program, along with ongoing industry education courses, so you can build the foundation necessary to launch your agency. We do not require prospective agents to have capital or assets on hand, nor do we sell or loan agencies. The only expectations are that you meet sufficient sales requirements and core business proficiencies. If you are no longer a Shelter agent, your financial responsibilities are limited to any unsatisfied bills owed through your departure. As a business owner, you may develop prospects, sell Shelter products, and bring on staff to help with administrative duties and improve sales.
