General Surgeon

Position Overview United Health Services Hospitals (UHS) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join an established outpatient General Surgery team in Binghamton, NY. The role involves working closely with a collaborative team of surgeons specializing in general, vascular, and trauma surgery. Responsibilities Conduct new and established patient visits in an outpatient setting, including comprehensive evaluations and ongoing care management. Perform patient consultations with thorough education on procedures and treatment plans. Provide postoperative care and follow‑up for surgical patients, monitoring recovery and addressing complications as needed. Coordinate patient communication and triage inquiries in collaboration with clinical and administrative team members. Perform wound care procedures, including complex dressing changes and wound VAC management. Qualifications 1–2 years of NP/PA experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Prior experience as an APP or RN in a surgical setting preferred. Active New York State NP or PA license required. DEA registration and board certification required. Location Binghamton, NY – approximately 2.5 hours north of New York City and 1 hour from Syracuse, NY. Compensation & Benefits Competitive starting salary of $136,000 to $152,000, with bonus incentives, a sign‑on bonus, relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package, including malpractice insurance with tail coverage.
