About the Position

The nurse will manage adult patients, including those with trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases. Monitoring or interventions every 1 to 2 hours are necessary for the patient population. The unit receives admissions directly, ICU transfers, and escalations from rapid response teams. Nurses must be proficient in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring. Medication management skills must include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Nurses are expected to float to other units or campuses as needed while ensuring documented competencies. The hospital is recognized for nursing excellence and features advanced specialty programs, including cardiac care and stroke services. Additional interdisciplinary support is available for patient care, including IV teams and physical therapy. The daily census on the unit is approximately 21 patients, requiring attentive monitoring and interventions. Experience with charting systems, specifically EPIC, is preferred. The position may require working on weekends, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period. All requests for time off must be included during the submission process. The facility allows for one shift cancellation every two weeks. The role is open to first-time travelers, though 3 years of experience within the specialty is required for this category.
