About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with cardiac telemetry - Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with IV infusions such as Lasix, Bumex, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Heparin, Amiodarone Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown Cardiac. The role includes working in a cardiac step-down unit. Candidates should have training in heart failure and LVAD preferred. The expected patient ratio is 4:1. Floating to other units may be required. Weekend coverage is necessary. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and others. Candidates will care for adult and geriatric patients. Several special procedures will be performed in this unit. Travel RNs will not be assigned LVAD patients but should be comfortable with cardiac patient care. Experience with EPIC EMR is required. Completion of modules and pre-assignment testing is mandatory. Responsibilities include providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role supports patient admissions and discharges, along with monitoring patient progress. Maintaining a compassionate patient environment is essential. Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to float are necessary for this assignment. Candidates should have a solid understanding of cardiac conditions and treatments.
