Job Overview Relief Battalion Chief responsible for leading firefighting, disaster response, and emergency medical operations. May be required to work in isolated areas, on uneven, rough terrain, and remain on duty for 24 hours or longer without a break. Duties may require working nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Lead firefighting operations. Coordinate disaster response efforts. Respond to emergency medical situations. Maintain training, equipment readiness, and safety protocols. Minimum Requirements Minimum requirements are outlined in the Class Specification. The position is for a BATTALION CHIEF. Special Requirements Medical clearance prior to hiring. Annual medical clearance to fit‑test respiratory protection equipment. Valid driver’s license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Benefits Pay: $6,882 – $8,930 Base Salary (monthly); $2,281 – $3,035 Extended Duty Week Compensation (every 4 weeks); $112,237 – $146,615 Annual Compensation.
