Pharmacist Staff I: Irvine Pharmacy

Part-Time Staff Pharmacist

This is a continuous recruitment requisition for Part-Time Staff Pharmacists at Hoag Irvine. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for openings across multiple shifts as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides pharmaceutical services to the hospital's inpatients and outpatients.
• Compounds and dispenses pharmaceutical preparations and acts as a source of drug information to all members of the health care team.
• Accurately reviews and interprets physician orders.
• Enters medication orders into the computer.
• Monitors for stat medications.
• Checks for accuracy of tasks performed by others.
• Always able to prepare complex pharmaceutical admixtures.
• Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.
• Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Graduation from a pharmacy program with at least a B.S. degree required
• Pharmacy experience or graduation from an ASHP-accredited residency program preferred
• Fulfills mandatory stroke education requirements per certification agency

License Required:

• Valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of California

Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
