Clinical Pharmacist II City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world‑class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11‑acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County's only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025. With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. About City of Hope Orange County The Clinical Pharmacist II (CPII) is a licensed professional responsible for reviewing research protocols and extracting key information to provide advanced clinical care. As part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the CPII directly supports patients enrolled in City of Hope (COH) clinical trials by managing investigational drug workflows and optimizing medication therapy through Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM). In this role, the CPII oversees investigational drug processes, supervises technician staff, and collaborates with leadership on operational aspects of the department. The pharmacist ensures compliance with research protocols and investigational drug regulations while actively participating in performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, they contribute to budget planning and financial targets, representing the research pharmacy across multiple disease teams and clinical committees. This position requires strong collaboration with peers, supervisors, and external stakeholders to foster a team‑oriented, problem‑solving approach that enhances pharmaceutical care and research integrity. As a successful candidate, you will: Provide comprehensive medication management services, coordinating all clinical pharmacy functions for patients enrolled in clinical trials to help achieve compliant, safe and per‑protocol use of investigational drugs Complete patient profile reviews and participate in huddles and meetings as an integrated member of the research team Review investigational medication regimens for appropriateness, contraindications, and potential interactions Ensure that services are accurate, reliable, courteous, and timely Help monitor therapeutic plans and medication treatment Order, review, and act upon appropriate laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies necessary to support a patient's medication therapy regimen Serve as subject matter and clinical expert as related to investigational drug use Collaborate with pharmacy supervisors, leadership, and staff to develop policies, procedures, and processes for more efficient research processing within the pharmacy Enterprise and area of practice Assume the duties of the Pharmacy Technician/Intern as needed to maintain efficient quality operation and timely service Maintain research logs and records to ensure accuracy and completeness Serve as an authority on drug information; usage, interactions, dosages, and compliance to medical staff, nursing staff, technicians and students Use appropriate references to research drug information Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Your qualifications should include: Graduate of ACPE‑accredited Pharmacy School or School with ACPE accreditation pending; PGY1 and PGY2 residencies, or PGY1 plus two years of experience as a clinical pharmacist, or five years of experience as a clinical pharmacist Current CA Pharmacist License American Heart Association BLS certification Preferred experience: three years of experience working in an investigational drug service, two years of experience working in an oncology setting, Pharmacy Research City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location. #J-18808-Ljbffr JobRx, Inc.
