Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for a direct hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role is ideal for a dependable service professional with strong diagnostic ability, hands-on HVAC repair experience, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

The HVAC Technician will service residential and commercial HVAC systems, communicate professionally with customers, and complete repairs, maintenance, and inspections safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, tune-ups, system checks, and equipment evaluations.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and control-system issues using meters, gauges, leak detection tools, and other HVAC diagnostic equipment.
- Recover, evacuate, charge, and handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA requirements and company procedures.
- Communicate HVAC issues, repair options, and recommendations clearly and professionally to customers.
- Complete service documentation, invoices, job notes, and required reporting accurately while maintaining a clean vehicle and safe work area.

Qualifications Needed:

- 3+ years of professional HVAC experience

- EPA Section 608 certification

- NATE Certification
- Texas TDLR Registered or Certified Technician designation

- Strong diagnostic & repair skills — electrical, refrigeration, airflow, controls, AC/heat pumps
Valid - Texas driver's license + clean driving record — able to travel to customer/job sites

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $55,000 to $70,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems in the field.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, tune-ups, and service calls efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, mechanical, and control-system problems.
- Communicate repair findings, recommendations, and service options clearly to customers.

- Minimum 3 years of professional HVAC service experience.
- Current EPA Section 608 certification appropriate for the work performed.
- Texas TDLR Registered Technician or Certified Technician designation, or ability to obtain and maintain the required designation through the employing licensed HVAC contractor.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, controls, airflow, and common system failures.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Experience using electrical meters, gauges, temperature instruments, leak detection equipment, and related diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if required by the company.
- Ability to safely lift equipment and materials and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.
- Strong communication skills, customer-service ability, reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to participate in on-call, weekend, or overtime rotations when required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Texas Certified HVAC Technician designation.
- NATE certification.
- EPA 608 Universal certification.
- Manufacturer-specific HVAC certifications.
- Experience with residential and/or light commercial service.
- Experience with heat pumps, variable-speed systems, mini-splits, package units, and high-efficiency equipment.
- Experience with commercial HVAC/R systems.
- Experience using modern HVAC diagnostic equipment and electronic service tools.
