Director, IT Portfolio Management & Shared Services

Role Description

Become a part of our caring community. The Director, IT Portfolio Management collaborates with the business portfolio team to align the IT portfolio and demand. This role will be a critical partner to our Segment CIOs, responsible for cross-functional leadership, collaboration, communication, and management of the business of running CWHM. To achieve our strategies, we must deliver on our strategic portfolio, improve operations, modernize our technology stack, improve our security posture, advance our operating and organizational maturity, and develop, diversify, and grow our talent base.

This role will provide direct oversight of the following services as a shared service across the organization:

• IT Strategy Advancement
• IT Portfolio Management and Lean Business Case Analysis and Development
• Financial Management
• Communications and Change Management
• Operations Support and Metrics
• Talent Strategy and Management, including Operating Model and Resourcing
• Agile Coaching

The Shared Services team, led by the Director, IT Portfolio Management & Shared Services, will support shared services initiatives across Pharmacy, Primary Care, Home Solutions, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, and Integrated Health.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Portfolio Management and Lean Business Case Analysis and Development
  • Execution of the Portfolio Management function with appropriate processes, tools, and team.
  • Execution of the IT Prioritization process, including creating/modifying initiatives.
  • Ensures continuous alignment of project investments and initiatives with business strategy.
  • Organizes and prioritizes initiatives and programs based on IT Strategy.
  • Supporting IT leaders and application owners with information to understand Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Supporting Agile transformation by implementing Agile best practices.
• Financial Management
  • Overseeing planning, budgeting, and tracking processes.
  • Partnering with IT Finance to analyze trends and performance against plan.
  • Developing and continually improving budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts.
  • Ad-hoc segment performance reporting & analysis.
  • Working with IT Finance to present monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Overseeing the approval process for all position additions and changes.
• IT Strategy Advancement
  • Supporting the development and execution of IT strategy and annual planning processes.
  • Defining objectives, frameworks, and metrics for the IT strategic planning process.
  • Preparing regular updates and reports for leadership reviews and strategic planning meetings.
  • Collaborating with IT Leaders and architects on technology roadmaps.
• Communications and Change Management
  • Developing and executing communications strategy to support IT leadership team.
  • Supporting the SVP/CIO in the management of departmental meetings.
  • Offering organizational change management guidance and tools.
• Operations Support and Metrics
  • Driving operational maturity by capturing and sharing key data and insights.
  • Contributing to the design, rollout, and maintenance of operational dashboards.
  • Ensuring that Segment CIOs are prepared with the information they need.
• Talent Strategy and Management
  • Working with the SVP/CIO and Segment CIOs to create, update, and refine operating models.
  • Ensuring consistent models for managing resourcing demand and capacity.
  • Overseeing all talent development, recruiting, and internship initiatives.
  • Enhancing the associate experience in partnership with HR.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• 8 or more years of technical experience
• 5 or more years of management experience
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders
• Advanced experience leading special projects and producing metrics, measurements, and trend reports
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or other Advanced Degree
• Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications, and processes
• Six Sigma certification
• PMP certification
• Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams

Work-At-Home Requirements

• Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
• A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mbps download x 10mbps upload) is required.
• Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel

• While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$172,200 - $236,900 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
