Front Desk Associate

As part of our front desk staff at our Sugar Land, TX location, you will answer phone calls and emails, welcome current and prospective students and families, and act as the friendly face of AoPS Academy while classes are in session. Additionally, you will support campus operations by inventory management, tidying the facility, and assisting full‑time staff with campus procedures to ensure everything runs smoothly. Front Desk Associate Responsibilities Serve as campus receptionist; answer the phone, respond to voicemails, and pass relevant info to appropriate staff. Warmly welcome students and families. Manage and respond to customer inquiries by phone and email. Maintain multiple calendars, schedule meetings, and keep everything up‑to‑date. Use internal database to generate reports and lists, perform data entry tasks. Provide admissions assistance: consultation requests, scheduling, and post‑consultation follow‑ups. Organize and prepare classroom and office supplies. Take inventory to support campus operations. Supervise students between classes. Perform light cleaning duties and tidy the facility. Assume responsibility for the appearance of the lobby and front desk area. Assist full‑time staff with other campus procedures. Participate in occasional outreach/inreach opportunities. Other duties as assigned. The Ideal Candidate Experienced in customer interaction; experience with families and students (elementary through high school) preferred. Strong organizational and computer skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and English usage. Ability to maintain positive, effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and the public. Works both independently and collaboratively. Flexible and able to solve problems under pressure. Administrative and/or customer service experience. Proficient with Google Workspace applications (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.). Motivated to learn new technologies. Maintains customer confidentiality. Excited about motivating high‑performing students. Capable of lifting up to 25lb. In‑person, part‑time position at the Sugar Land, Texas campus. Position starts in July for summer sessions and continues through the 2026‑2027 academic year. Front desk hours: Monday‑Friday day shifts during the summer, weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends during the academic year. Seeking a front desk associate with availability to work on weekdays. Pay rate: $16.90/hour.
