Maintenance Assistant

InfraHire is looking for a Maintenance Assistant in Fayateville, NC. This role helps inspect, clean, maintain, and repair tools, machinery, and building systems to promote safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and willing to learn company-specific maintenance procedures. Responsibilities Assist maintenance technicians with routine and preventive maintenance tasks. Inspect, clean, and perform minor repairs on equipment, tools, and building systems. Respond to maintenance work orders and report equipment or facility issues to the appropriate supervisor. Help troubleshoot basic mechanical, equipment, and facility problems. Support the upkeep of production areas, workspaces, and maintenance rooms. Use hand and power tools safely and properly. Follow preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, and established procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas. Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food-production guidelines. Document completed maintenance activities and repairs as directed. Communicate with supervisors, maintenance team members, and production staff to help reduce downtime. Assist with other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic experience with general maintenance, building upkeep, or minor repairs. Ability to support equipment maintenance and follow preventive maintenance procedures. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and systems. Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to safe work practices. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical work for extended periods. Comfortable working in an industrial, manufacturing, or food-production environment. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
