Safety Supervisor

Position Summary The Health and Safety (H&S) Supervisor supports the Houston Terminals and Fleet and may also provide H&S support to other Texas terminals and participate on the H&S audit team. Responsibilities & Expectations Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations, including employee training, documentation, and reporting. Maintain records, support accident investigations, assist with Workers’ Compensation reports, and coordinate audit processes and driver training. Manage compliance with MOTIVE, DQ file, NECS, Omnitracs, and Smith Systems training. Lead safety program initiatives: conduct site inspections, coordinate safety incentive programs and audits, develop health and safety audit procedures, and support regional H&S manager training initiatives. Assist in Job Safety Analysis and safe work procedure development. Provide front‑end input on safety and health compliance for capital projects, equipment or process changes. Maintain the Industrial Hygiene program and develop best practices for safety protocol implementation. Perform additional duties as assigned. Attributes & Qualifications Knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies. Ability to influence change at all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision and prioritize multiple tasks. Strong communication, analytical, problem‑solving, presentation, and public‑speaking skills. Excellent organization and follow‑through across projects. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must travel up to 40% and be willing to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Chemistry, Natural Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience. Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field or CSMP certification. Experience Required: Minimum 3years of professional management experience in industrial environmental and/or safety. Preferred: 5years or more experience with MSHA/OSHA‑regulated facilities and in the lime, cement, mining, or related industry. Physical Demands Ability to perform work assigned in office, mining, and mineral processing environments. Capacity to access all terminal locations, work outdoors in severe weather, and access areas up to 200ft in height, confined spaces, ladders, or tunnels.
