Our organization is on the lookout for an innovative and inspiring Program Director to lead our Pediatric Residency Program in Sacramento, California.

This full-time position consists of 0.5 FTE dedicated to program leadership and another 0.5 FTE for clinical practice, either in general pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty. This is a unique chance to guide, innovate, and expand a developing academic program while remaining actively involved in clinical care.

As the Program Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all aspects of the Pediatric Residency Program.

• Ensuring adherence to standards set by ABP, ACGME, and our institution.

• Leading strategic initiatives for resident recruitment, education, and retention.

• Promoting a culture of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and patient care.

• Managing clinical training experiences in both outpatient and inpatient environments.

• Collaborating closely with faculty, hospital leadership, and Graduate Medical Education administration.

In this pivotal role, you will significantly influence the future pediatric workforce while providing high-quality clinical care alongside residents and faculty.

Qualifications:

• Proven educational and administrative experience recognized by the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee.

• Active involvement in patient care.

• Understanding of healthcare delivery, administration, and the legal and ethical aspects of healthcare.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented management approach, soliciting input from various departments and communicating effectively.

• Skill in being persuasive and diplomatic to foster teamwork and cooperation in achieving service excellence.

• Strong communication skills, with sound judgment and the ability to establish constructive relationships across diverse backgrounds.

• Capability to handle challenging situations calmly and equitably.

• Experience in supervising and effectively delegating tasks.

• Proficiency in presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and the public.

• Aptitude for reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

• Ability to represent the program's interests within the community while maintaining strong relationships with public, private, and professional entities.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• Valid California medical license and Board Certification in Pediatrics.

• As required for relevant clinical privileges.
