Maintenance Coordinator

Job Details Job Location: Sioux Falls, SD 57108 Summary The person in this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the EmBe facility. This includes care and maintenance of the buildings, vehicles, and grounds and maintaining building security. This position is a 40‑hour‑per‑week role working during weekday daytime hours at the EmBe South location. The employee works cooperatively with staff and volunteers, in a team atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation with all staff. EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions. Not a manager/supervisory position. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Building Maintenance Perform regular preventive maintenance on all building systems including heating, air conditioning, fans and boilers. Troubleshoot and diagnose building maintenance issues. Check and maintain all motors, vents, heaters, fans, pumps, boilers, etc., and make or arrange for repairs as needed. Maintain the interior of the facility: walls, carpet, gym floor, equipment, routine clean‑up. Order and maintain adequate and appropriate maintenance supplies and maintain chemical content files as required. Provide general cleaning as may be necessary to keep the EmBe building clean and well maintained. Vehicle Maintenance Maintain agency vehicles, including keeping them clean and regularly serviced. Perform routine safety checks. Keep maintenance logs as required. Schedule maintenance as required for fleet. Grounds Maintenance Maintain exterior grounds, including lawn landscaping and snow removal. Winter: responsible for shoveling snow, removing ice, and maintaining walks and entrances at EmBe South. Spring/Summer/Fall: maintain lawns, walks, entrances, parking lots, building signage, playground areas and fencing; keep grounds free from litter. Maintain all maintenance equipment ensuring it is in good working condition. Winterize as needed. Oversee the work of other external building maintenance and repair vendors. Building Security Perform walk‑throughs for safety and repair checks daily or as scheduled. Oversee the general safety and security of the facility. Cross Departmental Work Work with youth and adult volunteers and EmBe staff. Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous maintenance experience required. High school diploma or GED or related degree from a technical institute. Basic handyman skills and interest are a must. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, mowers, snowblowers. Good communication skills. Valid driver’s license. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of boiler maintenance and operations. Ability to work a varied schedule when required. Support all company policies, decisions, direction, and purpose. A background check is a condition of employment. Physical Demands Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (trash and supplies); ability to push a minimum of 100 pounds (power cleaning appliances). Color vision, depth perception, hearing. Ability to climb ladder. Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking as job may require. Driving company vehicle to and from facilities. Work Environment Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, chemicals and moving machinery or equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
