Building Automation Technician Job Location: US-TX-DFW Airport | Openings: 1 | Shift: 2nd Shift | Company Division: DSUS Overview FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Site Management Work Schedule: Varies POSITION SUMMARY: Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance/repair of building automation systems for airport monitoring technology, ensuring continuous integration between various systems, equipment, peripheral devices and the main computer hub(s). Responsibilities Completes basic maintenance assignments including preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system faults, cleaning, and electrical/ software diagnostics. Monitors system operation; diagnoses equipment failures; ensures equipment is running safely. Provides direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel assisting in maintenance and repair activities. Reads and interprets technical documents, repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager instructions. Runs reports and analytics and verifies input data for accuracy. Uses system-generated data to identify trends and create proactive solutions to mitigate downtime and incidents. Performs repairs and diagnostics for networks, control modules and peripheral devices. Installs and configures new equipment and software. Works in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment. Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures; completes all assigned training courses. Completes forms related to work assignments per established procedures. Performs additional duties or assignments as required by management. Completes all safety training and complies with DSUS safety programs. Basic Requirements Previous experience with advanced controls systems and/or building automation systems. Post-secondary education in computer sciences, networking or system configuration. Minimum 3 years of mechanical or electrical experience. Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays. Preferred Qualifications Previous work experience in an airport environment. Experience with building management systems and devices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings. Basic knowledge of industrial environment practices and procedures. Minimum 3 years of basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience. 4+ years industrial electrical background. Minimum 2 years’ experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls or Industrial HVAC certification. Advanced computer skills. Other Requirements Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking). Must obtain and maintain an airport security badge. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company policy. Must comply with the DSUS Drug and Alcohol policy. Commit to safety while performing tasks. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, and handling small items; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs; frequent reaching and climbing in high spaces; use of PPE and fall protection. Work Environment Works under the airport terminal, potentially exposed to dust, dirt, and continuous noise below OSHA action levels.
