Operations Manager
Direct Hire Opportunity | Westbrook, CT Area
Salary: Up to $120,000 (DOE)
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee warehouse operations, compliance initiatives, facility management, and team leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting continued business growth.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, production, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Manage the flow of orders from intake through shipment to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery
- Supervise purchasing and inventory planning functions to align inventory levels with demand and production schedules
- Monitor operational performance metrics and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, service levels, and operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as workplace safety standards
- Oversee facility maintenance, vendor relationships, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
- Conduct audits, training, and process reviews to maintain compliance and operational standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and operations staff while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of Operations Management experience
- 5+ years of leadership or management experience
- Proven success leading teams in a manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial environment
- Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting and carrying materials
