Dovida – Jacksonville is looking for an experienced and dependable Lead Caregiver to join our team. This role is ideal for a caregiver who is ready to take on additional responsibility while continuing to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our clients.

As a Lead Caregiver, you’ll not only support clients with their daily needs but also serve as a positive example and resource for fellow caregivers, helping promote consistency, teamwork, and excellent client care.

Key Responsibilities

Client Care

• Provide personal care and homemaking services according to each client's care plan

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, transfers, and other daily activities

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundry

• Promote client dignity, independence, privacy, and choice

• Observe and report changes in a client's condition, behavior, or safety

• Complete required documentation and timekeeping accurately
  

Lead Caregiver Support

• Serve as a positive role model for other caregivers

• Help newer caregivers understand client routines, expectations, and professional standards

• Provide peer guidance and support within the scope of your training

• Encourage proper communication, attendance, documentation, and timekeeping

• Identify recurring caregiver concerns and communicate them to leadership

New Client & Staffing Support

• Assist with new client starts and caregiver transitions when requested

• Help caregivers become familiar with client preferences, routines, and safety expectations

• Assist with open shifts, call-offs, and emergency coverage when available

• Help maintain continuity of care during staffing changes

• Communicate client, caregiver, or scheduling concerns to the appropriate Dovida team member

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Pass Level 2 background check

• CPR certified

• Must pass drug testing

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous HHA, CNA, personal care, direct care, or home care experience preferred

• Previous experience mentoring, training, or supporting caregivers is preferred

• Ability to work independently in clients' homes

• Basic computer and mobile technology skills

• Ability to maintain required certifications, training, and competencies
