Job Description The Buncombe County Board of Education is seeking a Superintendent to lead Buncombe County Schools (BCS). Candidates must hold a Superintendent license in North Carolina. Prior experience and a doctoral degree are preferred but not required. The selected individual must live in Buncombe County. Qualifications Superintendent license in North Carolina. Doctoral degree (preferred). Prior experience as a superintendent is preferred but not required. Strong ability in instructional and administrative leadership. Partnering with community members, school personnel, and government officials. Public relations and family engagement. Long and short-term planning. Budgeting.
