MS SQL Server Database AdministratorLocation: Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Duration: 11+ Month Type: ContractThe client plans, establishes, maintains, improves and promotes public transportation services as well as freight transportation systems in the Commonwealth of Virginia. DRPT also strategically manages the demand to provide effective and efficient transportation choices for the people of the Commonwealth. The client is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Database Administrator. This position will be responsible for providing database application support services for the agency. Specifically, database Administrator will be responsible for but not limited to server management database maintenance, and collaborating with all levels of agency staff and extern agencies as needed to obtain project requirements and specifications. This position will provide support to project managers within the information technology division position will act as an assistant agency Database Administrator.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Progressively responsible experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including expertise in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), T-SQL programming, database administrative tasks.Skilled in maintaining and updating code written by other internal developersCapable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environmentAbility to troubleshoot, investigate, mitigate, and resolve technical problems.Demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems and procedures rapidlyExperience with providing end user technical support and troubleshootingEffective oral and written communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with software, hardware, and peripherals installation, support, and troubleshootingDevelopment experience in building, deploying, and supporting applications using.NET Standard 4.8+ and Visual BasicASP.NET (VB), ASP.NET (C#), ASP, HTML, HTML5, jQuery, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSONAbility to translate formal requirements documentation into database and program modulesExperience in server and system administration, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliabilityFull System Development Life Cycle experience and ability to troubleshoot and maintain code written by other developersExperience working with Commonwealth of Virginia IT systems and VITA greatly preferred.Experience with Microsoft SharePointExperience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Applications and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
