Senior Oracle DBA

Location: Richmond, VA; Boston, MA; NYC, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO; Dallas, TX; San Francisco, CA (Contract) Join a dynamic team supporting enterprise Oracle environments in a hybrid work setting across multiple major U.S. markets. This role demands a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator with a focus on operational excellence, automation, and troubleshooting in production environments, leveraging scripting and automation tools to optimize database performance and security. Key Responsibilities Design and implement installation, configuration, upgrades, and tuning of Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and stability. Provide technical support and manage database problems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in critical production environments. Develop and maintain scripts using Shell, Python, or similar languages to support database operations and automation initiatives. Utilize automation tools, preferably Ansible, to streamline database management processes and reduce manual effort. Monitor database performance metrics, analyze system reliability, and ensure high availability of enterprise Oracle systems. Assist with database design, implementation, and project-related activities, contributing to system architecture and deployment strategies. Follow system implementation and transition plans, recommending improvements to standards, procedures, and operational efficiencies. Required Qualifications 5–10+ years of Oracle DBA experience in production environments. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell and Python. Experience with automation tools, with a strong preference for Ansible. Knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery procedures. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience working in Linux/Unix environments. Ability to support enterprise-level database operations in a hybrid work setting. Work authorization to support W-2 employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Oracle databases in regulated or highly secure environments. Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle database deployments. Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE).
