Refrigeration Engineer

A growing industrial refrigeration organization is building out its engineering capability to support increasing demand across food, pharma, marine, chemical, and data center environments. This role is central to that effort, focused on design, system performance, and long-term engineering excellence. This is a highly visible position with the ability to shape engineering standards, influence system design strategy, and contribute to the development of a high-performing engineering team. The Environment The organization operates as a service and engineering provider with over 170 employees and a strong field presence. Engineering is a newer but rapidly expanding function, creating the opportunity to help define structure, process, and best practices. This role offers flexibility (remote or Jacksonville-based) with exposure to diverse, complex industrial applications. Key Focus Areas Develop and design industrial refrigeration systems across multiple applications Perform engineering calculations related to thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid systems Create and interpret P&IDs and system layouts Support both new system design and troubleshooting of existing systems Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, and design teams Ensure systems meet safety, efficiency, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA) What Success Looks Like Designs that perform reliably in real-world industrial environments Strong collaboration across engineering, field, and customer teams Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex refrigeration systems Contribution to building a scalable, high-performing engineering function Candidate Profile 3–5+ years of experience in mechanical or application engineering, ideally in industrial refrigeration Experience with ammonia, CO2, or Freon-based systems Strong foundation in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics Experience with system design, layouts, and customer-facing engineering work #J-18808-Ljbffr Index Search Group
