American Cruise Lines, the largest U.S. cruise company, offers unique experiences exploring America’s rivers and coasts. We’re hiring Dishwashers for the 2026 season. Your role will involve ensuring the proper sanitation of all galley equipment to provide an outstanding dining experience. This is a temporary position requiring 28 weeks onboard. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the galley, including cutlery, glassware, dishes, and surrounding areas. Receive and carry food deliveries, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs. Ensure the commercial dishwasher operates properly and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues. Create genuine rapport with guests and cater to all galley requests efficiently. Perform additional duties such as greeting guests at embarkation and assisting during special events or evening entertainment. Highlights Pay: Wages range from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus bonuses. All major living expenses are covered aboard. Hospitality Experience: This introductory role provides a strong foundation for a hospitality career. Covered Expenses: Company covers travel, room and board, uniforms, and training. Travel the Country: Work on over 50 itineraries across 35 states. Crew Connections: Build lifelong relationships with crew members and guests from across the country. Qualifications You must be at least 18 years old and an American citizen or Green Card holder. You must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation. Under Federal Law and the Department of Transportation, all shipboard employees undergo a pre‑employment drug test that includes testing for marijuana and other controlled substances. Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. All shipboard employees receive emergency and safety training essential to the safe operation of the ship. Company grooming standards limit visible tattoos and piercings. This is a temporary position not to extend beyond 28 weeks of shipboard work. While management opportunities may be pursued, they are not guaranteed. Successful individuals work well under pressure, keep composure, and maintain a positive attitude. Work Schedule 7 days per week while onboard, for up to 28 weeks. This is a temporary position with no guarantee of future employment. This is a full‑time, nonexempt position. Essential Functions Work in a constantly moving environment with up to six distinct ship motions. Work up to 12 hours per day. Assist in emergencies by climbing a ladder, opening and passing through a 20” diameter hatch. Stand for your entire shift. Frequently lift up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs. Frequently bend, squat, and reach. Live and work aboard for extended periods. Use stairs frequently.
