ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares shipments by ensuring completion and accuracy
- Consolidates orders from the Storage & Retrieval area
- Uses SAP Telnet to confirm and pack orders
- Compares packing list with product label (as opposed to picking ticket itself)
- Counts items to ensure the correct amount is shipped
- Packs boxes correctly to ensure the product is not damaged in transit
- Assists with loading trucks or trailers using forklift or pallet jack
- Visually checks the product for defects
- Notifies manager or lead person of discrepancies
- Visually checks packing list for special customer requirements (packing, labeling, etc.)
- Operates forklift to move merchandise to be shipped
- Weighs merchandise and completes bill of lading and packing list
- Stocks workstation periodically to ensure correct boxes and packing materials are available
- Assists Shipping Manager and Lead to ensure timely and accurate processing of all orders
- Keeps work area cleaned and well organized
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
