Electronics Technician III

Job Summary The Electronics Technician III works under limited supervision to test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production of electronic and mechanical products, parts, equipment, and systems. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using engineering instructions for testing units, creating non‑conformance reports, calibrating equipment, performing automated and manual testing, and supporting production projects beyond normal scope. Essential Functions Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings to direct testing of assembled units. Use manufacturing and engineering instructions to conduct tests, applying electronic and mechanical theory. Create non‑conformance reports with detailed failure descriptions and root‑cause analysis. Interpret work orders, drawings, schematics, and test procedures to ensure compliance. Calibrate or adjust assigned units, performing component selection, potentiometer adjustment, tension adjustment, and other mechanical adjustments as required. Make calculations for voltage, resistance, current, impedance, amplification, flow rate, mass, and mechanical dimensions. Perform automated testing (vibe, burn‑in, thermal cycle, ICT) and manual testing with test equipment such as multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, altitude chambers, and hi‑pot. Test units in other programs or more complex units under limited supervision. Practice safe work habits and support 5S, KPI, standard work, and problem‑solving initiatives. Maintain logs and manuals to document testing and equipment operation. Cross‑train less experienced technicians and lead the value stream when appropriate. Support overtime as needed and perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management. Minimum Qualifications 3–5 years of related experience (or equivalent education). Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting methods, circuitry, and mechanical characteristics in a manufacturing or repair environment. Familiarity with product flow and the ability to devise and adapt solutions. Good oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to learn new test software, identify abnormal conditions, and perform precise manual tasks. Manual and finger dexterity for rapid assembly and manipulation of small components. Working knowledge of computer systems, including time‑enter, data‐enter, and online training, PDM and MRP systems. AA degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management. Understanding of engineering electronics principles and practical applications. Experience with circuit boards, processors, chips, hardware, and software, including programming. Working Conditions This is a manufacturing environment that may require use of safety equipment such as eye safety glasses, masks, hearing protectors, and other PPE. Physical demands include standing 20%, sitting 80%, lifting up to 35 pounds, and pushing up to 100 pounds. Environmental conditions may include loud noise, cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and confined spaces. Occasional travel may be required.
