Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role supports relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. Acute care departments include Medical, Surgical, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Stay current with product and practice changes, applying new knowledge to promote cost-effective care.
• Utilize expertise to make appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.
• Foster excellent relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, demonstrating respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Engage in career development through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
• Promote teamwork by inspiring and mentoring others, encouraging cooperation, and building trust.
• Comply with organizational policies, maintain confidentiality, and participate in nursing research and peer review activities.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; MSN enrollment accepted for accelerated programs.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required and maintained upon hire.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift: Night shift, 6:00pm 6:00am, 36 hours weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest United States.
