Job Summary:

In this role, you will supervise a team of electrical personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve electrical investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high quality work plans, successful implementation of electrical components, team support and training, and project performance.

Major Responsibilities:

• Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day electrical engineering activity on small sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal complexity within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
• Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work accordingly
• Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of electrical discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly
• Reviews and makes recommendations of the electrical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering
• When directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of electrical engineering aspects of the work
• Reviews and approves key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned
• Ensures that assigned electrical engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development
• Assists in the preparation and reviews of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:
* US Citizen.
* Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Experience with Microsoft Office programs and other common computer programs.
* Experience with project controls including scheduling, estimating engineering efforts, planning, and work packaging.
* Knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
* Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and layouts.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing, and cable sizing.
* Strong knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis.
* Understanding of mechanical and process engineering discipline drawings and system calculations, as related to electrical design requirements.
* Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications:
* Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Electrical Engineering).
* Lead or supervisory experience on large projects.
* Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
* Knowledge of Bechtel corporate guides and standards.
* Experience planning and executing work in an Earned Value Management System environment.
* Experience with Nuclear Power Plant Design.
* Experience performing calculations with ETAP.
