System Reliability and Compliance Engineer (NERC)

Position System Reliability and Compliance Engineer (NERC) – Austin, TX / Denver, CO / Phoenix, AZ / Salt Lake City, UT (Remote or hybrid options available) Job Overview Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) seeks an experienced System Reliability and Compliance Engineer to support NERC compliance for internal and external clients. Responsibilities include developing NERC FAC and PRC studies, supporting audits, managing NERC project aspects, and assisting with technical questions and bid proposals. Responsibilities Develop NERC FAC and PRC studies utilizing design and testing data from system protection, system studies, substation, and SCADA systems. Support audits and manage, track, and report on NERC aspects of projects. Assist with technical questions and answers on transmission, substation, and generation projects. Write bid proposals and estimates under guidance of the Manager of System Reliability and Compliance. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (or related fields such as engineering technology, engineering physics, or mathematics). 6+ years of direct experience in electrical power, fossil, hydro, renewable generation, or transmission and substations. Experience in NERC compliance associated with System Protection and Substation Engineering. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization and planning skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Commitment to quality and accuracy, and willingness to meet fast‑paced project schedules.
