Associate Director - Digital Manufacturing & Automation Lead, Cell Therapy

Associate Director leading digital manufacturing and automation strategy for cell therapy operations at a global biopharmaceutical company. The role encompasses designing and implementing MES, LIMS, robotics integration, and manufacturing automation platforms while ensuring compliance in regulated GMP environments.

Responsibilities

Own delivery and roadmap of scalable digital manufacturing platforms supporting cell therapy operations globally
Lead MES and LIMS workflow orchestration integrating automation systems, robotics, and enterprise platforms
Design and deploy Tulip applications for shop floor execution, operator workflows, and process visibility
Lead technical integration of robotics, automation equipment, and OT systems into enterprise platforms
Partner across Manufacturing Operations, Quality, IT, and vendor teams to translate requirements into technical solutions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
8+ years in manufacturing systems, MES implementation, or automation engineering
Strong technical product ownership experience with complex manufacturing system implementations
Hands-on expertise with MES/LIMS platforms in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing
Proven experience with Tulip platform or equivalent low-code manufacturing applications
Technical integration skills: APIs, middleware (HighByte, OPC-UA), scripting, databases, event-driven architectures
Deep understanding of GxP, CFR Part 11, data integrity, and validation requirements
