Anticipated Social Worker (LCSW) GENERAL STATEMENT The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides comprehensive mental health services, clinical risk assessments, and social-emotional interventions to support students' academic performance and overall well-being. Full complement of health benefits REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator SUPERVISES: N/A Qualifications, EXPERIENCE AND Competencies Required Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution. Licensure: Active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Certification: State Certification as a School Social Worker Experience: Minimum of 2 years providing clinical social work, crisis intervention, or mental health therapy, preferably in a school or youth-focused setting. Preferred Specialized Training: Certification or documented training in Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, or crisis de-escalation (e.g., CPI/Safety-Care). CORE COMPETENCIES Clinical Assessment & Crisis Intervention: Expertise in risk assessments (suicide/self-harm, threat assessment), diagnostic screening, and implementing immediate, safety-focused interventions. Direct Mental Health Delivery: Skilled in facilitating evidence-based individual and small-group counseling targeting anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, and social skills. Case Management & Agency Liaison: Proficient in navigating community mental health networks, social service systems, and child welfare agencies to coordinate wraparound care for vulnerable families. Special Education & Compliance: Strong working knowledge of IEP/504 processes, writing functional social-developmental histories, and developing compliant behavioral/mental health goals. Cultural Competency & Advocacy: Demonstrated ability to support diverse student populations, advocate for equity, and apply culturally responsive practices in clinical work. Knowledge, Skills AND ABILITIES DUTIES AND Responsibilities Clinical & Counseling Services: Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and social-emotional skill-building for students. Assessments & IEP Compliance: Conduct social-developmental evaluations, participate in IEP/504 meetings, and write measurable social-emotional goals and progress reports. Crisis & Risk Management: Lead clinical risk assessments (suicide, self-harm, threat assessment), implement safety plans, and handle emergency mental health crises. Consultation & Collaboration: Advise teachers, staff, and administration on trauma-informed practices, behavior management, and student mental health strategies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs) Knowledge: Expert knowledge of clinical social work principles, DSM-5 diagnostics, trauma-informed care, child development, and special education law (IDEA/Section 504). Skills: Proficient in clinical risk assessment, therapeutic intervention, crisis de-escalation, conflict resolution, and electronic case management software. Abilities: Ability to maintain strict clinical confidentiality, manage acute crises calmly under pressure, build trust with diverse families, and advocate effectively for vulnerable students.
