Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This role will encompass providing high-quality care to patients during labor and delivery, as well as supporting pre-operative and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor laboring patients and perform triage assessments.
• Circulate and assist during labor, delivery, and recovery processes.
• Administer medications and manage pain relief methods, including epidural and PCA pumps.
• Provide care for patients in various stages, including low-risk antepartum and postpartum.
• Attend and support high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries.
• Utilize specialized equipment for patient care and comfort, including warming/cooling blankets and wound vacs.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Epic experience is required.
• Must hold the following certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and ACLS (preferred).
• Compact nursing license is honored, ensuring eligibility for travel contracts.

Scheduling Information

• Shifts available: Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule.
• Ability to request up to 2 major holidays off, with a requirement to work only 1 of the 3 main holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, or New Year's Eve.

Patient Care Focus

The nursing staff will care for a diverse patient population, managing cases of labor and preterm labor, and providing support in labor rooms, triage rooms, and recovery areas.

Staffing and Float Information

• Staffing ratios generally range from 1:1 to 1:3.
• Floating may be required to postpartum and potentially other units as needed.
