Express Service Technician

Express Service TechnicianWe are looking for an Express Service Technician to join our growing team! We are looking for individuals that want to learn a trade with career goals of being a Master Technician.Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Sells lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services. Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil. Replaces oil and air filters. Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary. Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed. Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins. Completes all training assignments. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Documents all work performed on the repair order. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts. Other duties may be assigned.Benefits include competitive pay, medical insurance, 401k plan, life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, employee discounts, paid training, educational assistance, and opportunities for growth.Responsibilities include testing to check systems and components are secure and working properly, isolating the systems or components that might have caused the problem, driving the vehicle for testing purposes and inspecting and refilling fluid levels as necessary, ensuring tire pressure for proper inflation, clean and lubricate fittings as needed, installing a new oil drain plug and new oil filter and communicating oil levels to teammates, maintaining efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles, repairing or replacing worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage, and using power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks.Qualifications include a deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities, effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve, ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications, ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment, high school diploma or GED (required), valid driver’s license and clean driving record.The Hutchinson Automotive Group is a family owned and operated group of dealerships serving Macon, Forsyth, Warner Robbins and Albany, Georgia for over 20 years.
