Clinical Therapist- Full Time

Department: Substance Use Program

Location: Children's Medical Center Plano

Shift: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday- Friday; Some evening group coverage required

Job Type: Hybrid: 3 Days onsite; 2 days remote

Additional Information: In this role you will provide individual, family, and group therapy services for our newly launched Substance Use Program. Group therapy services will be provided three evenings per week. This role will require hybrid availability and evening group coverage.

Special Note: This role will support Behavioral Health services at Children's Medical Center Plano for the Summer 2026 expansion.

The therapist will function as an integral member of a multidisciplinary care team, collaborating closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, primary care providers, care coordinators, social workers, and school or community partners to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care.

Summary: This position specializes in evaluating adolescents and families in crisis and helping them adjust to acute and/or ongoing psychiatric stressors. The position provides support for patients participating in a substance use and mental health IOP program in an outpatient Setting. These services may include any of the following: diagnostic evaluations; consultations on the behavioral management of teens; individual; family and group therapy and discharge planning as appropriate. This position also provides education and practical coping strategies for patients and families.

Responsibilities:

• Provide evaluation and treatment services to patients and families with complex psychosocial needs; provide crisis intervention and coordinates emergency services as needed.
• Case management and disposition arrangements.
• Contribute to program development
• Maintain fiscal accountability and apply problem solving skills that demonstrate responsibility for generating allocated billable and/or patient contact hours.
• Contribute to the teaching mission of the hospital by working with trainees as co-therapists, and participating in didactics on topics of own expertise.

How You'll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 year job related experience required
• At least 3 years job related experience preferred
• Adolescent experience within a group therapy environment preferred
• Virtual/Remote experience within a patient care environment preferred
• Substance abuse program experience preferred

EDUCATION

• Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• State of Texas License at a Master's level (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent) required
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements within 60 Days, required
