Title: Classification & Compensation Consultant
Located: Cayce, SC
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (37.5 hrs/week)
Pay: Up to $29.07/hour DOE | Contract-to-Hire Opportunity with Growth Potential
Are you a detail-oriented HR professional with experience in classification & compensation, recruiting, or HR analysis? We are seeking a Classification & Compensation Consultant to join a dynamic HR team supporting critical classification, compensation, and compliance functions within a fast-paced environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on accuracy, policy interpretation, data analysis, and providing exceptional internal customer service. Candidates with SCEIS experience are highly encouraged to apply!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct job analyses and evaluate position duties to ensure accurate classifications and organizational alignment
- Review, maintain, and recommend updates to job descriptions in compliance with SC State HR regulations and internal policies
- Analyze internal and statewide salary data to support equitable compensation decisions
- Assist with market reviews and provide recommendations related to salary actions, pay equity, and compression concerns
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support classification/compensation reviews, audits, and appeals
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state HR laws, regulations, and policies
- Deliver high-level customer service while managing a high volume of detailed work with accuracy and professionalism
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible HR experience in classification & compensation or recruitment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret policy, analyze data, and effectively communicate recommendations
- Experience working within HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- High attention to detail, patience, professionalism, and customer-service mindset
- SCEIS experience is a strong plus
