Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Job Type: PRN Your experience matters Meadowview Regional Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) you’ll be part of a vital mission to improve community health and provide exceptional care to critically ill adults. Team Overview The ICU is a 6‑bed unit that delivers direct patient care to critically ill adult patients using the nursing process and adhering to applicable scope and standards of practice. Key Responsibilities Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care. Document patient care provided. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assist patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluate learning needs of patients and families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients. Float to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse‑to‑patient ratios. Manage ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and vaporisers. Titrate and maintain critical drips, including knowledge of indications, contraindications, and side effects. Pass a rhythm recognition test within 90 days of hire. Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one year of hire.
