Unit Coordinator, Observation Unit, 24 Hours (Day/Evening / Every Other Weekend)

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the overall clerical functions of the nursing station/front desk. Working collaboratively with the clinical team, the Unit Coordinator contributes to patient care by providing clerical support, customer relations, and other services to patients, their families/visitors, and healthcare team members. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Care of the patient, family, and visitors: greeting, directing, providing non‑clinical information, and responding to call lights. Front‑desk and communication: answering phone calls, checking e‑mail, handling inquiries and routing them to the appropriate personnel. Medical record and order entry: preparing charts, maintaining accurate records, transcribing orders, and filing test results. Appointment scheduling and coordination: using computer systems (SCM, IDX, GE, etc.) to schedule pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, and other procedures. Equipment and supplies management: daily rounds, logging repairs, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory levels. Compliance and regulatory: following hospital standards, safety, infection control, and completing annual training requirements. Other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS High school education or GED. One to two years of clerical experience; healthcare setting preferred. Competency in Microsoft Office and hospital software (SEM, IDX, SDK, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication in English; multilingual skills preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and troubleshooting skills. Physical ability to meet core job requirements. COMPENSATION $19.35 – $26.04 per hour.
