Platform Engineer

PromptArmor is an AI security company based in San Francisco. We help the world's most demanding enterprises, Fortune 100 companies, leading healthcare systems, top 100 law firms, and institutional financial firms, assess and monitor the novel risks introduced by AI in their products and across their assets and ecosystem. Our research has uncovered critical vulnerabilities in major platforms like Slack and Writer.com, and we are focused on the net-new AI security problems that traditional tooling wasn't built to solve.

About the role

Build and scale the foundational platform that powers PromptArmor's AI security products. You'll design the systems that ingest, process, and serve threat intelligence and risk signals across our customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build internal platform services and APIs used across the engineering organization.
• Improve developer velocity through shared tooling, libraries, and abstractions.
• Own data infrastructure, queueing systems, and core services that scale with the business.
• Partner with product engineers to ship customer-facing features on a reliable foundation.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, and API design.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar backend language, with cloud-native experience (AWS/GCP).
• A track record of scaling services from prototype to production.

Nice to have

• Experience at a security or data platform company.
• Background in event-driven architectures or stream processing.
• Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
