Assembler #1

Job Summary The hourly rate for this position is $30.21 for 1st shift. Responsibilities Disassemble and reassemble test fired weapons and components of all crew-served weapons. Ensure appropriate interchange of sub-assembly components by maintaining awareness of required tolerance and fit. Assist Assembler Specialist(s) or other Assembler #1(s) in training and upgrading skills of employees in the Assembly Department. Perform rework and final qualifying operations on sub-assemblies and assemblies to comply with internal and government inspection requirements. Use precision functional gauges, alignment and workholding fixtures, pneumatic tools, drill presses, riveters, etc. Perform fitting and rework tasks such as grinding, filling, drilling, blending mismatched surfaces, and other fitting tasks. Maintain and record weapons data, inventory, and serial number identification. Adhere to security requirements associated with all weapons. Perform heavy lifting, washing, and degreasing of weapons; lift, move, and adjust items weighing approximately 35 lbs on a production basis. Practice safety and good housekeeping policies and procedures. Qualifications Education : High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Experience : Basic computer skills and ability to enter and verify information into written forms or databases. Minimum 18 months of related experience. Knowledge : Ability to use a variety of ordinary machine tools and precision measuring instruments; successful completion of Aircraft Assembly basic classes; successful completion of the written and practical test for Assembler #1; knowledge of general riveting operations. Skills : Excellent blueprint reading skills, shop math skills, proficiency with precision measuring tools; constant awareness of security and foreign object debris hazards; basic computer skills. Requirements Must be a qualified Assembler #2 and able to perform all tasks and duties of an Assembler #2.
